Looking younger doesn’t have to mean Cosmetic Surgery

Men and women can choose from a variety of non surgical procedures that can turn back the clock. The procedures discussed here were designed to reverse, improve or erase the earliest signs of aging such as wrinkles, fine lines and sun damaged skin. They are often referred to as “Lunchtime procedures” because they take very little time to perform and do not have any recovery period.

Signs of Facial Aging
In your thirties, Wrinkles and age spots may begin to appear. Your skin may seem less radiant and may show signs of discoloration.
In your forties, the collagen and elastin support network begin to break down. Lines and wrinkles become more prominent as your skin become dryer. The blood flow begins to slow down, leaving your skin with less of a blush.
Once in your fifties, the new cell production decreases. Your skin retains less water, which increases the wrinkles formation. At the same time the underlying fat cells in your face shrink and your excess skin begins to sag.

Why are they called Lunchtime Procedures?
They are called lunchtime procedures because you can improve various signs of aging in just a short period of time and return to your normal activities immediately. Your skin will have a healthy glow, age spots will lighten or disappear, wrinkles around the eyes and frown lines will be soften, and sagging skin can be improved. Patients love these procedures because they help slow down the appearance of aging. It’s easier than ever before to look your best.

Your treatment options

Botox Injections relax the muscles so they do not contract. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled, while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal facial expression to be unaffected.

Photo rejuvenation is designed to combat the effects of aging in a gentler way. The procedure is performed with lasers that use intense pulsed light to treat age spots, broken capillaries, and blotchy pigmentation and improve the appearance of wrinkles. After your treatment the treated vein or lesion will gradually fade and slowly disappear, leaving your skin smoother and softer.

Non-Ablative Lasers treat wrinkles by stimulating the production of your body’s own collagen. This newly formed collagen fills the wrinkles from within. Some patients see improvement after only one treatment. Unlike CO2 and Erbium lasers, there is no downtime.

Wrinkle Injections using soft tissue fillers can improve the appearance of facial wrinkles. Fillers can also add fullness to the lips and reduce the appearance of acne scars.

Dermaroller or Micro Needling Therapy (also called skin rollers, microneedle rollers, and dermarollers) is a small hand-held rolling device which has micro surgical steel needles that reach the inner surface of your skin to promote skin repair from the inside out. It stimulates elastin and collagen production in the skin without causing any damage. Derma Rollers are supported by clinical studies to be effective in non-surgical and non-ablative treatment for a variety of skin conditions. These include aging, (wrinkles, fine lines, and stretch marks), scarring, (acne and breast augmentation), as well as cellulite and hyperpigmentation. Regular use of derma roller can thicken skin, smooth scars of all sizes, and erase wrinkles. The dermaroller has become very popular and is proven effective for:
* Stretch Mark Removal and Stretch Mark Treatment
* Acne Scar Removal / Acne Scar Treatment
* Anti Wrinkle Treatment / Anti Aging
* Surgical Scar Removal
* Cellulite Treatment and Cellulite Reduction

Microdermabrasion leaves your skin softer, smoother and fresher looking. In as little as twenty minutes, this gentle, abrasive technique efficiently produces satisfying results.

For Your New Figure

Obesity affects two of every three people. For those morbidly obese patients, dieting and exercise just doesn’t work. Their excessive weight adversely affects their quality of life and that  of their families. They are in constant discomfort with aching joints and backs. They are high risk candidates to develop ischemic heart disease (IHD), diabetes or cancer. For them Bariatric surgery is their only hope, and their last resort.
Most Bariatric surgeries performed are gastric bypasses. A gastric bypass sections off a section of the stomach and re-routes food to the small intestine. This results in less food intake and a reduction in the calories absorbed by the body.
One drawback to bariatric surgery is that over time the loss of pounds may result in large pockets of loose, sagging, unattractive, excess skin. This excessive skin can continue to interfere or just looking good.
Your Surgeon
Prior to undergoing any Bariatric procedure it is important to consult with your surgeon. Together you can plan to deal with removing the final mark of your obesity. The excess skin left behind after your body looses weight.
Body Contouring
Body contouring can improve your figure and remove the excess skin and fatty deposits that are left after your Bariatric surgery.
The most common post Bariatric body contouring surgeries combine liposuction with excision body lifting. Generally body lifting is divided into the central body and trunk lift, the inner thigh lift, the arm lift and a breast lift or reduction
What will my recovery be like?
You will go home after the procedure and rest for at least 24 hours, after which you may gradually increase your activity as tolerated. Some discomfort and pain is to be expected, but it can be controlled with medication. The bandage over the incision site will be removed the day after surgery and you will be able to shower. Generally, it is necessary to wear a light compression garment two to three weeks after your surgery. All sutures are internal and absorbable. After 2 or 3 days you may resume most non-strenuous activities. Most patients return to work after a week or two. Sport and other strenuous activities are prohibited for at least two months.
How will my skin look after surgery?
During the first 10 to 14 days, you will be bruised at and the surgical site. Scars will be red for the first few months, but they will gradually fade. Patients who have had liposuction will have more swelling than those who only had a lift performed. The use of smaller cannulas during liposuction allows the fibrous connections between your skin and body to remain. These connections will contract over time, after which the excessive skin folds will be gone. Following your surgery, you will enjoy the new more pleasing youthful shape you desire.

Nothing is quite as beautiful as smooth, soft & glowing skin.

Skin is body’s largest organ and one of the most important because it protects all other organs of the body from external environment. While doing duty of gardening the body, skin itself gets affected by these external factors and over ages, the effects of the sun, wind, time and hormones begin to appear on it. But now maintaining its youthful & vibrant appearance doesn’t have to be a difficult process any longer.
Understanding Skin
Our skin is made up of two layers. The outer layer which is visible is called epidermis. This layer is gets replaced periodically about every 3 months as newly produced cells in its deepest layer push outer layers upwards & cells from the uppermost layer get shed off without our knowledge. One can test this by rubbing the forearms against each other over a beam of sunlight entering the house & the sun flakes will shine on it.  The inner layer, called dermis is the main layer. It is many times ticker than the epidermis & contains important appendages of the skin such as oil & sweat glands, hair roots, blood vessels & nerve ending through which we sense the external world by touch, temperature & pain sensation. So, given a simily of a house wall, epidermis is the external thin layer of plaster, while the dermis being the thick main brick wall. Here the bricks are collagen with interspersed elastin fibers as plaster.
The Aging process
The early signs of aging are when fine lines begin to appear on skin around the eyes and lips. This is because the collagen and elastin fibers begin to wear out and then deeper lines and grooves form between brows (frown lines), next to the nose on cheeks (naso- Labial folds) and down to the corners of the mouth. Surface irregularities such as pigment discolorations may also occur.
Many patients wish that there was a safe, easy and quick way to get rid of their red complexion, fine wrinkles, irregular pigmentation and large pores. Fortunately, today advanced technologies enables us to treat these skin imperfections safely, easily and effectively with very little, if any downtime.
Laser Rejuvenation
Advances in the treatment of aging skin have continued to improve from dermabrasion to chemical peels to CO2 and Erbium laser skin resurfacing. However all of these treatments exfoliate the protective outer layer of the skin, which may require bandages and a somewhat lengthy recovery period.
Who are the best candidates for photo rejuvenation?
The best candidates have:
·         Red, flushed faces
·         Sun damaged skin
·         Hyper pigmentation
·         Enlarged pores
What results can be expected?
After each session you will experience some improvement in skin tone and texture. There will be decrease in the overall redness and flushing. Sun spots will fade, pore size will shrink. Fine lines and wrinkles will gradually decrease in size and number as the new collagen forms beneath the skin. You will experience tightness of facial skin. These improvements will continue with subsequent treatment.
